Community Development Strategy for Bovill
A resilient, community-centered development strategy for Bovill that leverages architecture, landscape, and infrastructure to support economic growth through outdoor recreation and connectivity. Rooted in the town's timber and railroad heritage, the design focuses on three strategic interventions: a Recreation and Amenities Center, a Pedestrian Green Path, and an Outdoor Adventure Rental Center.
Mass Timber Design
Developed as part of the IFPC Competition sponsored by the Idaho Forest Products Commission, this proposal integrates a visitor center with public landscape strategies on a 17,000 sq ft site at the gateway to the University of Idaho campus. The project emphasizes sustainability, structural performance, and the environmental benefits of mass timber in achieving carbon-conscious design.
Labor, Leisure & the Working Shore
Reimagines the edge of Garibaldi's working shore as a place where labor and leisure intertwine, revealing the hidden choreography of the fishing life. Through light, texture, and movement, the architecture invites visitors to witness production as an experience rather than a backdrop — dissolving boundaries between those who work the sea and those who come to taste it.
War, Memory & the Manipulation of Light
An exploration of spatial organization and the manipulation of light to design a performance space. Three cubic structures are dissected and reconstructed into performance areas that respond dynamically to diffused, chromatic, and direct light conditions — set against a narrative of war-torn landscapes transformed into spaces of resilience and remembrance.
